Accra Tours

As a result, three coastal villages—Osu (Christiansborg), Dutch Accra (later called Ussher Town), and James Town—sprang up, becoming the nuclei of what was to be Accra. The name Accra itself is a corruption of the Akan word nkran. Accra is the capital of Ghana, Stretched along the Atlantic Ocean, Ghana's most populous city boasts glittering beaches, monumental buildings, museums, libraries, galleries, traditional markets and lively nightlife. Accra's architecture reflects its colonial history, with 17th century castles standing alongside modern skyscrapers. Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park honors Ghana’s first president, who helped lead the country to independence. The park contains Nkrumah’s mausoleum and a museum charting his life. Makola Market is the city’s vast, colorful bazaar. Popular seafront spots Labadi Beach and Kokrobite Beach offer golden sand and high-energy nightlife.

Kumasi Tour

Kumasi is the capital city of the Ashanti Region, in southern Ghana. It’s known as a center for Ashanti culture. In the huge, open-air Kejetia Market, the largest single market in West Africa. stalls sell everything from glass beads to Ashanti sandals. The National Cultural Centre offers craft workshops and dance performances. It includes the Prempeh II Jubilee Museum, which displays jewelry and ceremonial clothing belonging to the 20th-century Ashanti king. Manhyia Palace Museum, the seat of the Asante king as well as official residence. Kumasi's historical significance dates back to 1695, when it became the capital of the Ashanti Empire. Founded by King Osei Kofi Tutu and his adviser Okomfo Anokye, the kingdom became known for its military prowess, architecture, culture, and wealth, which was largely accumulated though the trade of gold and slaves

Mole National Park

Mole National Park was the first Wildlife Protected Area to be established in Ghana. The Park lies within two physiographic regions - 65% lies within the Voltarian sandstones basin and 35°/0 within the savannah high plains. Mole National Park protects an area of savannah and forest in northern Ghana. Its home to elephants, leopards and rare birds such as the white-backed vulture. In the western part of the park, the Konkori Escarpment has panoramic views and overlooks waterholes where animals drink. There are waterfalls along the Kparia and Polzen rivers. To the south, Larabanga village has a centuries-old, Sudanese-style mosque. Visitors can either ride in a safari car or walk through the forests with a guide; to catch a glimpse of the elephants, baboons, warthogs, and buffalo that roam the park.

Nzulezu

Nzulezo is a village located near the village of Beyin, 90 kilometers west of Takoradi, in the Jomoro District in the Western Region of Ghana. With over 500 people living there. The community overlooks Lake Tadane, and is entirely made up of stilts and platforms. Oral history has it that the village was constructed some five (500) hundred years ago by migrants from Walata, a city in prehistoric Ghana Empire which was the earliest of the Western Sudanese States. It is believed that the the early settlers or the ancestors were led there by a snail and also protecting themselves from external attacks. The people of Nzulezu still adhere to traditional norms and taboos. For instance, Thursday is a sacred day on the lake, and on this day, the villagers do not engage in any strenuous activity. Today the village subsists on fishing, farming on nearby land, and tourism.

Cape Coast

Cape Coast, located in southern Ghana, was founded by Egya Oguaa, a hunter from Efutu, during the 16th century. It was controlled by various colonial powers including the Swedish, Portuguese, Danish, Dutch, and British. Originally named 'Cabo Corso' by the Portuguese, it later became 'Cape Coast.' As the first capital of the Gold Coast, it played a significant role in the transatlantic slave trade. Cape Coast Castle, built by the Swedish in the 17th century and later used by the British as a slave holding prison, overlooks the Gulf of Guinea. Today, Cape Coast is the capital of the Central Region, known for fishing, trading, and tourism. Notable landmarks include Christ Church, Wesley Chapel, and the Cathedral of St. Francis.

Elmina

Elmina, situated between the Atlantic Ocean and the Benya Lagoon, is a historic town in Ghana, known for its colonial architecture and ancient shrines. It derives its name from the Portuguese word for "Mine" due to the gold mines in the area, contributing to the name "Gold Coast" for British-colonized Ghana. Founded by hunter Kwa Amankwa as Anomansa, meaning "inexhaustible water," Elmina is among Ghana's oldest and historically significant cities.
